Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra on Saturday, where he will unveil multiple development projects worth over Rs 56,000 crore. The Prime Minister will begin his visit in Washim, where he will inaugurate the Banjara Virasat Museum, celebrating the rich heritage of the Banjara community.
Before this, PM Modi will offer prayers at the Jagdamba Mata temple in Poharadevi and pay respects at the samadhis of Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various projects worth over Rs 32,800 crore in Thane. In Mumbai, he will open the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey JVLR section of the Mumbai Metro Line 3, which has been built at a cost of approximately Rs 14,120 crore. He will also then take a metro ride between the BKC and Santacruz stations.
At noon, PM Modi will launch agricultural and animal husbandry initiatives worth around Rs 23,300 crore in Washim. During the event, he will disburse the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, releasing around Rs 20,000 crore to about 9.4 crore farmers. He will also launch the 5th instalment of NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana and disburse Rs 2,000 crore, an official statement said.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate over 7,500 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), with a total cost of Rs 1,920 crore. These include custom hiring centers, primary processing units, warehouses, sorting and grading facilities, cold storage projects and the post-harvest management projects.
The PM will also introduce the Unified Genomic Chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology, which is aimed at making sex-sorted semen more affordable for farmers by reducing costs.
The genomic chips, GAUCHIP for indigenous cattle and MAHISHCHIP for buffaloes, have been developed with genotyping services. This technology will enable early identification of high-quality bulls.
In the evening, PM Modi will return to Thane to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for additional development projects worth over Rs 32,800 crore. One of the major initiatives will be the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, to be constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 12,200 crore.
He will also lay the foundation stone for the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, connecting Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, which aims to provide seamless connectivity between South Mumbai and Thane.
Further, PM Modi will dedicate five solar parks with a total capacity of 19 MW across Maharashtra under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0. He will also lay the foundation stone of Phase-1 of Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project worth around Rs 2,550 crore.
